Specific Programs/Services include:
- 24 hour Emergency/Crisis intervention and hospital prescreening;
- Alcohol/Drug Residential Treatment and Detox Referral (New Hope Detox, Boxwood, HalfÂWay House)
- Individual/Group Substance Abuse Motivational Treatment;
- Short-term Outpatient Counseling (individual & Group) for adults, families, and children;
- Psychiatric and Nurse Practitioner medication management services are connected with other long-term care and are not available as a single, stand alone service (with nursing and patient medication assistance services)
- Intensive SA Outpatient Programs (women and adolescents);
- Intensive In-Home Therapy and Mentoring Services for Youth
- In-Home Respite Care Services for persons with MR/DD
- Child/Adolescent Therapeutic School-Based Day Treatment (Shenandoah County);
- Case-Management services for adults with serious mental illness, for children with or at-risk of serious emotional disturbance, and for adults and youth with mental challenges;
- Vocational and Prevocational Day Support/Activity services for persons with MR or other developmental disabilities;
- Psychosocial Day Support Programs for persons with serious and persistent mental illness (Sunshine House in New Market). Van transportation services also available.
- Community-Based/In-Home Wrap-A-Round Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) for persons with serious mental illness;
- Transitional Apartments for persons with serious mental illness (New Market & at other locations in the district)
- Royal Avenue Residence Group Home for persons with serious mental illness (only available through special hospital discharge project)
- Residential Housing (rent assistance) for homeless persons with disabilities through the Shelter Plus Care (S+C) and other supportive services through the Supportive Housing Program (SHP), both are HUD grant programs;
- Special recreational and camp programs that include a therapeutic playground for infants and toddlers with special needs;
- Prevention and Early Intervention Programs to educate the community about risk factors for substance use, mental illness, emotional disturbance, MR/DD, and other disorders;
- Special Transportation Services through the Public Mobility Project;
NWCS contracts services through partnerships with other public and private providers that include:
- Concern Hotline;
- ARC of the Northern Shenandoah Valley;
- NW Works, ShenPaco, Warren Co. Workshop;
- Autism Resource Center;
- Shenandoah Valley Community Residences;
- Lord Fairfax House & Edgehill Retreat & Recovery Center
- Warren County Health Coalition.
