Northwestern Community Services Board from Front Royal, Virginia proposes to provide transportation for people with developmental disabilities in the counties of Clarke, Warren, Frederick, Shenandoah, Page and the City of Winchester for the purpose of transporting these individuals to and from Day Support Programs, clinical appointments, and other community integration activities deemed necessary for rehabilitation and community inclusion. Funds are being requested from the Commonwealth of Virginia to purchase two (2) 9-passenger vans and two (2) Minivans with a wheelchair lift through the FTA Section 5310 Program. The vehicles will be used to transport wheelchair participants and ambulatory participants from their homes in Clarke, Warren, Frederick, Shenandoah, Page and the City of Winchester to and from Northwestern facilities and other necessary medical appointments and activities. Primary hours of operation will be based on agency and participants’ needs. We invite any interested public or private transit or paratransit operator in the Planning District 7 area to comment on the proposed services by sending a written notice by February 1, 2021, to the Virginia Department Rail and Public Transportation – Public Transportation Division, 600 E.
