The Board of Directors of Northwestern Community Services Board is commencing its search for its new CEO following the announcement of Katrina McClure’s departure. McClure will conclude her role on April 15, 2024, as she embarks on a new chapter in Denmark with her husband and three young children. Her husband has accepted a position as a Data Architect with the Technical University of Denmark.

Sandra Dunkle, the Chair of the Board of Directors, expressed the board’s sentiments, stating, “The board of directors is saddened by Ms. McClure’s departure from NWCSB, but we extend our best wishes to her and her family as they begin this new adventure in Denmark. Ms. McClure’s tenure has ushered in much-needed changes at Northwestern, enabling us to better serve our clients in Page, Warren, Shenandoah, Frederick counties, and the City of Winchester. We are currently conducting an extensive search for a new Executive Director and have every confidence that our next leader will build upon Ms. McClure’s achievements.”

McClure, who assumed her role on July 1, 2023, has been instrumental in driving impactful changes during her tenure. She prioritized improving access to mental health services, with a strong focus on recruitment and retention initiatives. Among those include a clinical fellowship program for recent graduates of social work and counseling programs who want to explore multiple areas within mental health, substance use, and children’s services.

Reflecting on her time at Northwestern Community Services Board, McClure remarked, “Northwestern Community Services Board is an outstanding organization, comprised of dedicated individuals committed to enhancing the mental well-being of our community. I take pride in the progress we’ve achieved, and I am confident that NWCSB holds tremendous potential for even greater accomplishments in the future.” She notes that interested applicants can apply at www.nwcsb.com.

For half a century, Northwestern Community Services Board has been dedicated to providing mental health, developmental disability, and substance use disorder services to children and adults residing in the City of Winchester and the counties of Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah, and Warren.
