Our Family Program

“OUR FAMILY” IS YOUR FAMILY

Our Family is one of two psychiatric rehabilitation (PSR) day programs at NWCSB. Our Family is located in Front Royal, Virginia. Serving individuals over the age of 18 with severe and persistent mental illness residing in Frederick County, Warren County, and the City of Winchester. This program is designed to help the members function as actively, adaptively, and independently in society as possible thru community outings, psychoeducational groups, real life work experiences, peer supports, and socialization.

GOALS

The main goals of PSR are as follows:

  • To perform education about mental illness and appropriate medications to avoid complications and relapse.
  • To provide opportunities to learn about and use independent living skills.
  • To enhance social and interpersonal relationship skills within a supportive and normalizing environment.

WHY JOIN?

You may ask yourself, why would I want to become a member of Our Family? PSR is facilitated thorough a normalizing group dynamic within a “Clubhouse” setting. Clubhouses are generally community based and “Members” of the PSR clubhouse take personal ownership of the clubhouse operation through participation in all aspects of the day to day operations. The members identify their own recovery goals in areas such as housing, education, vocation, and socialization, which is integral to an individual experiencing improved functioning and engagement, and meaningful purpose in life. Did we mention that lunch is free everyday?

Our Family Table

Our Family also provides a great opportunity for those interested in gaining greater culinary skills thru participation in Our Family Table Catering. Our Family Table provides catering for NWCSB and community events.
